YOUNG BEAUTY QUEENS

5 Aug

We often see kids on TV ads, in billboards, in magazines and in movies. Some people disagree with it while some simply doesn’t care at all. But I guess, as long as the kids still enjoys what they’re doing and that they could stop anytime they wish too then that’s okay.

I always find kiddie pictures cute but I was shocked when I found these photos when I googled toddlers&tiaras which is about beauty pageant for ages 0 to 12..

This isn’t the definition of cute to me. This is weird in all aspects. Too much make up for kids their age. Even grown up women who’d wear this much make up would look… uhm, i don’t know. CREEPY maybe.

The show goes behind-the-scenes of the child beauty pageant world, profiling a number of young contestants from all different ages and backgrounds, as well as their fanatical parents.

On any given weekend, on stages across the country, little girls parade around wearing makeup, false eyelashes, spray tans and fake hair to be judged on their beauty, personality and costumes. Toddlers and Tiaras follows families on their quest for sparkly crowns, big titles, and lots of cash.

The preparation is intense as it gets down to the final week before the pageant. From hair and nail appointments, to finishing touches on gowns and suits, to numerous coaching sessions or rehearsals, each child preps for their performance. But once at the pageant, it’s all up to the judges and drama ensues when every parent wants to prove that their child is beautiful. (Source: TLC)

But just look at how pretty this kids are without those heavy make-ups, false teeth, big hair and all that extras..

Some says it’s cute while some says it’s weird.. We all have our own opinions regarding kids and this beauty competition thing..  As for me I guess it’s okay to let them continue joining such competitions as long as they’re still having fun, that it’ll help them boost their confidence, and that how they act and present themselves is still age appropriate.
